Suggestions for your visit
A hike into Mosaic Canyon provides instant gratification. In the first half-mile, the canyon is narrow and intimate. Polished walls of striped marble and mosaics of cemented rock fragments are a visual feast. Some rock scrambling over smooth rock is required, so wear sturdy shoes. Above the narrows, the canyon opens up to views of Tucki Mountain where bighorn sheep are occasionally seen. It is possible to walk up canyon about two miles from the parking lot until the route is blocked by a large dry fall.
